r/antiwork 9 hr. ago Away-Hope-918 New boss is f☐ing around and finding out I work as a CNA in a nursing home (I know) and we recently got a new Director of Nursing. I was hopeful she would make positive changes but oh boy was I wrong. The building is split into different wings and we have crews that work specifically on that wing. We are a team and I love each and everyone of my coworkers. We consistently

go above and beyond, not for management's sake but because we all feel like we are in it together. My one joy at work is making my coworkers day better and I know they feel the same. To that end all of us will go in on our days off if things are going to just to have each others back. Even though our motivation is loyalty to each other

management certainly does reap the benefits of our crew. It's been one week into our new DON's tenure and she brought us all into her office one by one to write us up for missing too much work. As you probably could guess when an illness rips through the population of a nursing home it also rips through the people who are caring for them. The vast majority of our days missed were a direct result of working there and yet that's not their problem according to them. In our

meeting there was no mention of all the days I came in to help, no mention of the times I've stayed late or all the holidays I worked. For reference I missed 9 days out a twelve month period and picked up at least every other week. We are all she pulled that I and the same day she got 3 two week notices from a twelve person crew. I know from others that they are looking and I'm giving my notice the next day I work. I am sorry I will not be working with my friends

any more and I will miss our residents but I'm so happy I won't be working for someone who doesn't see their workers as humans with lives outside of work. I also find it incredibly funny that in her first week as DON she has managed to lose the home's most valuable asset, an entire crew of knowledgeable, kind and dedicated CNAs. How are you supposed to run a nursing home now without CNAs? What fun it is to f around and find out!

CatchMelf YouCan09 • 7h ago Had a new DON walk into a meet & greet with corporate LATE; slam down a 2 inch high stack of papers and say "sorry I'm late, I needed to write some people up" motioing to that stack. She tried to write me up 3x alone in 1 week when she wasn't even my direct supervisor or department head. She didn't know I was friends with HR and printed policies and emails that contradicted her and had all 3 wrote ups dismissed. Then I filed a "hostile workplace" complaint as did abou

aviewofhell7158 • 7h ago I worked as a CNA for years at a private long term care facility that also added a "rehab" wing for hip surgery recovery and whatnot. Working in a nursing home turned me off the medical field so bad, they pay CNA's dirt wages and expect the world from them. This sounds a lot like the place I used to work. I'm sorry OP, the camaraderie between my old co-workers and I was the only saving grace. Good luck tho. ↑ 57 Repl ↑ Share

. LaughableIKR 5h ago She went full Dumbass. Submit your resignation to her boss and let him know the repercussions of not figuring out how things were working before. Moral has tanked and it's DON's problem and directly because of her. 36 Repl ↑ Share

Opposite Ok8280 .7h ago I worked as a nursing assistant my senior year of college. We had a covid outbreak and half the staff got sick. Along with an entire floor on lockdown. At the same time, a Administrator was starting. I got covid and they used all my pto for my isolation even though I got sick from the out break. She only lasted a year. 16 Reply 1 Share ...
